The Orlando Magic is one of the seven teams in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the NBA. They play in TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando, Florida and wear jerseys of blue, white and silver. The name of the team comes from Walt Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom, which is also located in Orlando.

During the franchise’s first five years, the Magic fared well in the NBA draft and selected guard-forward Nick Anderson (1989), forward Dennis Scott (1990), center Shaquille O’ Neal (1992) and guard Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway (1993). These players popularized the franchise and propelled the Magic to the NBA finals in 1995.

Though the Orlando Magic made it to the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2002-03 season, the 2006-07 season was very depressing for the team as it lost in the first round. However, the off season has made the team’s game very sensational. With head coach being replaced by former Miami Heat coach Stan Van Gundy and Rashard Lewis coming over from the Seattle Supersonics, the speculation has shot very high about the upcoming NBA games where the Orlando Magic will take a shot for victory.
