Led by head coach Larry Brown, the Nuggets were fixtures in the NBA playoffs in the 1970s and mid 1980s. Later on, the Nuggets experienced some difficulties, posting only three winning records between 1988 and 2003.

In the 2006-07 season, the Denver Nuggets did pretty well and finished 2nd place in the tough Northwest Division. The team did not make any big acquisitions for 2007-08 but big names like Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby are already on the roster.
