Created as the Tri-City Blackhawks, the team is based in Moline and Rock Island, Illinois, and Davenport, Iowa. The team won the Central division Title that year and matched its franchise best record of 57-25.

However, the Hawks’ fans were left starving for success in the 2006-07 season. The team continued with its losing streak and finished last in the Southeast Division. Still, the addition of Al Horford and Acie Law IV promises to revitalize the team along with the existing strong players on the roster such as Joe Johnson and Shelden Williams.
